Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost and what does that cover?
The cost is $125 per swimmer. Each additional swimmer in your family is $5 dollars off. Since our team is run completely by volunteer parents separate from the city, registration covers the cost of pool use, life guards, coaches, league fees.
Are there requirements to join?
Swimmers must be at least 6 years old (We have some swimmers that are 5 years old, however they will be aged up to compete with 6 year olds) and be able to swim the length of the pool (25 meters) without hanging on the lane line (quality of the stroke does not matter, our coaches will teach them). While we have tremendous coaches, please be aware that this is a swim team, not swimming lessons.
When are practices?
We have practice Monday-Friday. The time depends on the age of your swimmer:
6-8 year old: 8:15-8:45
9-12 year old: 8:45-9:45
13-18 year old: 9:45-11:00
These times may be adjusted based on the proficiency of your swimmer. This will be determined by the coaches at practice. WE can also adjust times to keep siblings together.
What equipment do I need?
You will need a towel, suit, swim cap, and goggles. It also helps to bring a water bottle each day to practice. You can order your suits from the links in our menu. You will also want a good set of goggles, not the 4 pack you pick up at a local store. Caps can be purchased at practice.
Do I need to volunteer for anything?
Yes! We are a completely parent run team and we cannot run a meet without volunteers. We ask that each family volunteer for at least 2 spots per swimmer (4 minimum per family). Don't be nervous! We have a great group of parents that will help you get familiar with volunteer opportunities!
