Coach Tyler
Coach Tyler has been part of the swimming community his entire life. He is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He began swimming at age five and swam for his club team for fifteen years, he was a four-year varsity swimmer in high school and a team captain for three years. After high school, Tyler swam for Cleveland State for four years. While at Cleveland State, he was a record holder in the 800 Freestyle relay as well as an All American swimmer. His favorite strokes are Breaststroke and Freestyle.
Coach Tyler has been an assistant coach for Murrysville Swim Club for five years. In his five years at Murrysville Swim Club, the team won Summer League Champs four out of the five years. During that time, he was able to build relationships with his swimmers as well as their families. Tyler`s main goal at Mills Creek is to make it a fun environment for his swimmers, while teaching them the fundamentals of swimming as well as building sportsmanship.
When not swimming, Coach Tyler is finishing his fifth year at Cleveland State to become a High School Social Studies teacher. He hopes to have a job in the Cleveland area by the start of next school year. Tyler has also known Coach Megan his entire life, as they swam together in high school and have coached together for five years at Murrysville Swim Club. He is excited to be your new coach for Mills Creek Swim Team. He is looking forward to meeting all of the swimmers and families and to get to know them all.

Coach Megan
Coach Megan is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has been involved with swimming since she was 4 years old. She started off in summer swimming for her local club team and swam there for 15 years. Over the years, she also swam for a club team as well as her school teams. During Megan’s varsity swimming career, she qualified for districts and states, was girls team captain, and became an All American. Her favorite stroke is freestyle and she loves sprinting.
After high school, Coach Megan continued to coach at Murrysville Swim Club in the summers. She spent 5 years there as an assistant coach. Her favorite part about coaching summer swimming is helping swimmers of all skill levels build their confidence in the water, and she loves to make swimming fun for everyone. Coach Megan likes to focus on creating relationships and helping swimmers understand the reasoning behind their training, which is what she hopes to continue to do Mills Creek.
Megan just recently moved to Cleveland after graduating from Miami University in May of 2020. At Miami, she majored in Early Childhood Education and double minored in Community-Based Leadership and Coaching. She is currently teaching 3rd grade in Mayfield City Schools. Megan has been coaching with Coach Tyler for the past 5 years and has known him since they started swimming together at Murrysville Swim Club! Megan is so excited to continue coaching and to meet all of the swimmers and families of Mills Creek Swim Team.
